Strategy & Ecosystems, Part 1: How do ecosystems affect strategy?

In case you’re wondering about the impact of ecosystems on business strategy, HBR recently published a great article to which I’ve included the link below. Although it refers to business ecosystems, it’s equally relevant to the public sector and to non-profits. The strategic value of connections and inter-relationships is not new; what’s new is the power of these ecosystems to generate new value when their various participants work towards a long-term vision. The number and complexity of strategic options available to any one organisation through its ecosystems is much greater as a result.
